Hvordan beskytte utsatte overflater i rustfritt stål?

How do you protect exposed stainless steel surfaces?

NORSOK-Z006 states: All exposed surfaces of corrosion-resistant alloys ("CRA", including titanium, stainless steel, duplex steel, aluminium, etc.) shall be protected against contamination with a clear, transparent, Teflon-based film coating or equivalent approved by the purchaser, which does not require removal (grease or wax products are not acceptable).

Then there is only one product that applies: Interflon Film WB!

Interflon Film WB is a durable, anti-adhesive coating developed to protect metal and alloy surfaces against corrosion, dirt, and contamination. The product is based on MicPol® technology, which provides extra wear resistance and a long service life – even under demanding conditions such as salt spray, chemicals, or extreme weather conditions.

Main purpose and benefits

The coating prevents dust, cement, dirt, chips, or other deposits from adhering to the surfaces, making cleaning easier. It specifically protects stainless steel against corrosion caused by saltwater, strong chemicals, or harsh environments. The product is solvent-free, resistant to moisture, water splashes, and wear, and is NSF approved for use in the food industry – provided it does not come into direct contact with food.

Typical applications

Interflon Film WB is suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Industrial equipment: Sliding tracks, sorting chutes, dirt hoppers, silos, containers, and machine parts.

  • Marine and offshore: Salt spreaders, cables, pulleys, rims, fences, and other equipment exposed to corrosion.

  • Agriculture and military: Equipment that requires protection against wear and chemicals.

Application and technical data

  • Preparation: The surface must be cleaned thoroughly (e.g., with Interflon Fin Clean All, mixed 1:10), rinsed with water, and dried.

  • Application: Spray on in a thin layer (consumption: ~1 L/10 m²). Drying time: 30 minutes (touch-dry), full curing after 6 hours.

  • Environmental requirements: Apply at 15–40 °C and air humidity below 80 %. Avoid direct sunlight during drying.

  • Storage: Keep at room temperature (never below 0 °C) in original, unopened packaging (shelf life: 4 years).

  • Maximum temperature: The coating withstands up to 80 °C after curing.

Physical properties

  • Color: White

  • Odor: Ammonia-like

  • Density: 1.02 g/cm³ (at 20 °C)

  • Viscosity: 11 mPas (at 40 °C)

Certification and guarantees

The product is NSF certified (reg. no. 144640, category H2) and meets strict requirements for industrial use. Note that technical data may vary within production tolerances, and Interflon disclaims liability for specific applications beyond general guidelines.
