What is silica gel?

Silica gel, a desiccant, absorbs moisture from the ambient air inside packaging, containers, and shipments. It protects everything from electronics and instrumentation to spare parts, documents, and foodstuffs. Silica gel is chemically inert, reusable, and safe to handle – which is why it is the first choice for industry and logistics in Norway and internationally.

Silica gel bags – All sizes in stock

We stock silica gel bags from 3 grams to 2500 grams, adapted to any packaging requirement:

  • Self-indicating silica gel – changes color when saturated, simple visual control
  • Cargo Drier – with carrying straps for containers and larger shipments
  • Adapted for electronics, components, spare parts, and documents

Quality standards: MIL-D-3464E and NORSOK Z-006

Silica gel from Reál Marine can be supplied in accordance with the American military standard MIL-D-3464E Type I and Type II – documented quality for defense, aerospace, and offshore. The products also meet NORSOK Z-006 preservation standards for equipment for offshore installations.
